The Atlantic at Hilton Head Island, SC

On Thursday we went to the beach at Hilton Head. We parked in a metered lot and walked down a blistering-hot boardwalk to the beach, which has nice firm sand.

I couldn't find my preferred sunscreen, although I had it in the car in May. I was afraid to use the other one we had because it contained aloe, to which I am allergic. So I got a little bit sunburned, but only on my right side.

The ocean was surprisingly warm, with only mild surf. I'm not a huge fan of the beach, but this one was nice if you don't mind hot sand. It was not overly crowded. There weren't many birds around though, which is different from the mid-Atlantic beaches.
