Fountains at Lilypons

We drove into Maryland and visited Lilypons.

We heard about Lilypons long ago but neither of us had been there. It's known for its water lilies but we were looking for pond ideas.

We got there via 1-81 and Route 340. Shortly past Berryville we stopped for lunch near Rippon, West Virginia at John's Family Restaurant. It was much nicer inside than it looked from the road, with quite a collection of stained glass decor items, and the food was good.

We passed Harper's Ferry and crossed the Potomac into Maryland, soon switching to local roads to reach Adamstown. A sign was missing near Lilypons so we stopped and got directions at the post office.

Lilypons has acres of water lilies. There are some lovely fountains and small ponds, but not as many as we saw at Harper's and Springdale in the Shenandoah Valley.

On the way home we made a brief visit to Harper's Ferry -- I'll post some pictures from there later.
