Exchange Hotel, Gordonsville
When our class finally got in our cars to leave the Exchange Hotel, a train pulled up and stopped, blocking the road. We all sat and waited.
Finally, the train started to move. However, it was a very long train and took about ten minutes to clear the crossing. Finally, it left and we drove out to US 33, which took us westward across the Blue Ridge to Elkton, where we turned south to study the battle of Piedmont.
