Civil War Sites in the eastern U.S. I responded that "there are a number of organizations offering tours. If your schedule allows you to attend one of the tours led by Ed Bearss, take advantage of it because I've heard people rave about his tours. He is associated with the Smithsonian

Of course, my personal favorites are college-sponsored; the ones sponsored by community colleges are bargain-priced.
