Wild Azalea Blossoms

Rhododendron canescens
Some people call this a honeysuckle, but don't be misled: this is not an edible plant! The wild azalea is a rhododendron and the parts are poisonous.

I saw this particular plant in George Washington National Forest, but is is a common native plant in Virginia. We had them in our yard when I was growing up.

  2. I don't think our wild azaleas are in blossom yet. Not sure since I don't live in the country any longer.
