Model of Fort Loudoun

Here we are looking straight down upon a model of Fort Loudoun that sits on a small table in the George Washington's Office Museum, Winchester, VA. Washington was responsible for designing the fort and supervising its construction during the French and Indian War.

The actual fort disintegrated long ago, and any remains disappeared under residences in the 19th century. A single well is believed to still exist.
