Today I was driving down a back road when I saw this nest, high in a tree. It’s too big to be a squirrel’s nest. I reasoned that if it was an eagle’s nest, there would be a body of water nearby.
What do you think? I suppose it could be a heron’s nest, but there was only one and they like to nest in rookeries.

In every heronry there has to be a first nest.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a heron's nest. I love all your birds and photos. Take care, have a great day!

Interesting nest. Keep on going by and check it out again if you can!
ReplyDeleteIt was on a rough old road. I may go back one day if I feel like bumping my car around and getting it dirty. 😉

That's quite a nest.
ReplyDeleteCardinals are one of my favorite birds. They are so fidgety that a feeder is my best way to get decent images.
