Saturday Snowday, Sunday Meltday

Sleet mixed with snow started yesterday around 8 AM and continued most of the day. The temperature went above freezing in the afternoon so we didn’t get much accumulation. It was slippery though, and I had to be very cautious when walking the dog so that I didn’t fall. During the night, it got very cold and more ice formed.

This morning my driveway and sidewalk were still white, but soon the temperature rose and paved surfaces became just wet. Charlie needed exercise so we went to Seven Bends State Park and walked on the farm road, which is closed to traffic. The highlight of Charlie’s day was meeting a friendly dog in the parking lot who was walking with her family.

By the time we drove home, most snow was gone from sunny areas. I could see there was still some on the mountains.

  1. Pretty views of the park and the mountains, Charlie is always looking adorable. We had a mix of sleet, snow and rain, it also melted quickly that afternoon. Take care, have a great week!

  5. I am sure snow is not as romantic as I make it out to be, but I enjoy seeing snowy pics from the northern hemisphere while I languish in hot summer here. Thankyou. Have a fabulous week and 2024. I am joining you at Mosaic Monday.

  7. I'm very late commenting today... I'm amazed at how quickly the days fly by again in the new year.

Your post is a feast for the eyes in many ways. A very welcome change when I look out of the window here at how rainy and dreary it is here. Well... it's January, it's winter time. It's supposed to get really cold in the next few days (-10 C°) and it's supposed to snow.

Once again, best wishes for a healthy, happy new year 2024,
    Heidrun
