Heritage Park In Broadway
When I snapped pictures of this mural on the bridge, I did not realize what it
said. Looking at the pictures later, I saw it said Heritage Park. I decided I
needed more pictures of the park if I was going to make this into an
interesting blog post. So one afternoon I went back and walked around the
park.
It is a pleasant park along Linville Creek.

I had to enlarge the photos before I saw it all. Nice there was a fire fighter honored, too. I LOVE that LOVE mixed media sculpture. Very interesting post, Linda.
ReplyDeleteThe mural is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteNice mural and I like the "love" sign too. We also have a town called Rockingham south of Perth. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Linda.
ReplyDelete...I LOVE the LOVE sign.
ReplyDeleteDo we know whose heritage is commemorated by the park?
ReplyDeleteProbably local history, but that’s an interesting question. The town had a very rough reputation at one time because it was a place where crews brought timber and goods to ship downriver and rivermen congregated. The result would involve drinking, womanizing, and fighting. Somehow I don’t think that’s the heritage that they are commemorating!
DeleteLove the mural, the park images are wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy your day and the week ahead!
Great mural. A lovely park too!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully rendered!
ReplyDeleteI like the mural. Very bright and colorful!
ReplyDeleteThat's neat -- I didn't see the name until I embiggened the pictures.
