Bird Post #1025
Although I like photographing birds, identifying them is not my strong suit. The only sparrow I can identify quickly is the white-throated variety because it has distinctive yellow spots. I am not sure whether I am correct in saying this is a song sparrow. Does it look like one to you?

It is a Song Sparrow, Linda.
ReplyDeleteThank you, David!
Delete...with all of our dead ash trees woodpeckers are everywhere.
ReplyDeleteFrom the sweet tiny sparrow to the garish huge woodpecker...these two probably aren't even aware of each other in the woods!
ReplyDeleteI've been close to a pileated woodpecker once, sitting near it while it was recovering from bonking into the window.
ReplyDeleteThe woodpecker is particularly photogenic.
