Photo of the Year 2021

 But first, Happy New Year!

According to tradition and the City Daily Photo theme for this first day of the year, it is time to post a Photo of the Year for 2021. Since this year's activities were influenced again by a global pandemic, I'm going with a Covid-coping theme. So here I am at the vaccination site, looking a bit ragged from the stresses and limitations of the preceding months.

Yes, I altered the photo a bit. For those who don't recognize the meme I added, that's Senator Bernie Sanders with the striped mittens. He was photographed that way at the inauguration of Joe Biden.

This is not the best photo I've posted this year but it is pertinent. The year was a tough one. We had the threat of a serious disease, an attempt at overthrowing the government, a series of natural disasters in various places that were probably caused by climate change, and other disturbing news stories. For a while it looked like the pandemic was being controlled but that shifted recently as a variant swept across the world.

In spite of all the uncertainty, let's survive and continue to care for each other. Peace!

  1. Purchased my first supply of N95s for this coming year. Hope I never have to use them.

  2. Surely in 2022 we will get the upper hand on COVID or learn to live with it. No pandemic lasts forever.
