We spent Monday night at the Holiday Inn in Tappahannock. The hotel was okay but the beds were too tall. I actually had to request a step stool!
We were in that area to go to settlement on a house that Frank bought about 20 years ago. We rented it out, then
lived there briefly, and rented it out again.
The community there has a nice beach on the lower Potomac River. When we went back to the beach on Tuesday, we found that the old boardwalk and pier were gone except for the supports. I imagine a storm took away the rest.
The tenant purchased the house. She loves the view, the birds, and the quiet.
While Frank signed papers in the settlement office, I walked around Montross. There are some great murals, which I'll share starting Monday. The day was pretty but warm and I got a bit overheated.
The beach looks nice.
ReplyDeleteNice angle with your black and white.
ReplyDeleteOne of my daughters once stayed at an hotel with high beds - she pulled a muscle climbing in! I'm glad you had the sense yo ask for a stool.
...looks like a beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteI hope you didn't fall out of bed during the night!

Beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!
I always liked the area and the beach here looks good. Beautiful flowers! Have you visited Menokin? I want to see the house.
ReplyDeleteYour black & white photo is great and those balcony boxes are fantastic! We have had a few hot days (to the Finnish standards) and I too get a bit dizzy in the sun.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your sale! The boardwalk remains look like benches on the beach. Pretty photos.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good place to be. All the infrastructure disappearing.. that seems to happen on the waterfront.
ReplyDeleteCool captures all.
ReplyDeletePetunias are stunning, Thanks for joining in Garden Affair.
