They paused for a few moments and then started running around again. I zoomed in with my camera and saw that some hanky-panky was going on.

While we're on the subject, Here are a couple shots I took on June 19th. I wondered about the situation here but I see on Ask Naturalist that there are often more male ducks than females so there is competition. Here it looks ridiculous!
Afterward, they all rested beside the lake.

When they get the urge, it must be strong!
ReplyDeleteHello, cute photos. They sure do gang up, I feel sorry for the female. I love the ducklings. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteIt seems similar to chicken hanky-panky we used to have when we had chickens.
ReplyDeleteIt's too late to say spring fever, right?
ReplyDeleteWow energetic ducks it seems. Great photos. Diane
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the female …
ReplyDeleteAren't the ducklings sweet.
All the best Jan
The ducklings are adorable! And as for the hanky-panky, I see the doves chasing each other around in circles on our back deck and the sight of them always makes me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteThe little ones are cute, but I don't like the way the males "attack" the female in gangs like that.
