Deer in Front Royal
The town of Front Royal has a wildlife problem. Deer eat people's gardens and get hit by cars, bears raid garbage cans, and smaller animals cause mischief too. The town is adjacent to Shenandoah National Park, so wild animals wander into town and sometimes take up permanent residence there.
You may have to look twice at the final photo to see two deer. The small one was in the shadows.

ReplyDelete...a common sight here.
ReplyDeleteNice shots, sad they become a nuisance and get hurt
ReplyDeleteSad to see that they are becoming a nuisance.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos! I will be having similar situations where we are moving. Our daughter has already told us that she sees deer in the roadways all the time.
ReplyDeleteCute pic of the mom and baby deer. My brother lives in Bend, Oregon and they have the same problem with an overpopulation of deer living in the city.
ReplyDeleteThey're taking over the area they use to roam on.
ReplyDeleteThey're such beautiful animals. They move so quickly at night that you don't have time to stop.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics of the deer. We have a couple of bears roaming in our area at night getting into garbage cans. I'm not going to try and get their pictures though!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of them ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
As you know, I can well identify with deer eating my plants! (But I can't bear the thought of them being killed....)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on the blog post about Bacon's Castle. If you do plan a trip, please let me know! We're only about 10 miles from there and would love to show you around our area! (Bacon's Castle is closed until spring --- probably March.)

I love seeing deer, but I know they can cause damage both to gardens and to cars. It's a tricky balance and a difficult problem to solve.
