Herndon Heifers

A search for a pleasant spot for eating a salad that I purchased in Reston led me to Frying Pan Park in Herndon, Virginia. It turned out to be a great place for taking some barn photos.

I'm calling these young cows "heifers" but perhaps they are yearlings. Farmer friends, how do I tell?

This one reminds me of a deer.

  1. Nice farm setting. Sorry, I can't help with your cow terminology. Generally I can tell a cow from a bull and that's about it. Tom The Backroads Traveller

  4. Well I guess you and the heifers enjoyed your meal together. They look like they are eating greens too.
