Assateague Island
This is a wildlife refuge, carefully managed to protect the species that make this home. It's a wonderful place, but wear insect repellent because the mosquitoes are hungry!
The View from Squirrel Ridge features thousands of views of the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding area. I post frequently so please visit often.

I have never seen an egret in person. Wonderful habitat for them and safe too. It's a shame that water and bird watching usually means biting bugs.. Thank you for linking into Nature Notes this week....Michelle

ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the egrets.. Chincoteague also has the juvie Little Blue Herons that can be white too. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteI love Assateague. The mosquitoes weren't too bad when we went - except around the lighthouse and in one area one morning when I was running on a trail.
