Skywatch Front Royal, VA
Sometimes I stop to grab a photo of the sunset and I just can't get a shot without power lines cutting across the sky. Why don't they put those things underground? I realize that utilities couldn't care less about photographers, but underground lines wouldn't come down in ice storms and thunderstorms. They also would not be so vulnerable to acts of terrorism or squirrels!
A lovely sunset. Acts of squirrels, huh?
ReplyDeleteYes, William. Much as I admire squirrels, they are a significant cause of of power outages. See this for "shocking" details: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/01/opinion/sunday/squirrel-power.html
ReplyDeleteI never imagined that squirrels can shorten the electricity supply.
ReplyDeleteFor good photography wires completely immiscible.
Have a nice weekend
Lovely skyshots, Linda:)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors and sky! Lovely captures, Linda! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures , beautiful colors in the sky !
ReplyDeleteThey bury the lines in parts of Northern Virginia. Smart!
ReplyDeleteExcellent points!
ReplyDeletestill pretty, though.
ReplyDeleteI love that insanely beautiful shade of orange! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
I understand we can't retrofit everywhere, but all FUTURE power lines and various cables SHOULD be underground. In my humble, don't raise my rates because of it, opinion.
ReplyDeleteI have asked that question a thousand times! Maybe because people would go digging and electrocute themselves? Anyway, the photo is still pretty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I've had the problem of power lines running through photos before too.
ReplyDeleteWow !! The first picture is vibrant !
