Yellow Leaves, Passage Creek
I should know tree what this is but I don't. Maybe a reader will enlighten me. I was attracted to the color of the heart-shaped leaves.
The creek is a lovely trout stream that runs through a gap in the Massanutten Range near my home in Virginia. It's part of George Washington National Forest.

No idea what that leaf is, but it's a very appealing area.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what tree it is, but I like the cheery yellow leaves too.
ReplyDeleteDelicious photo, beautiful fall colors!
ReplyDeleteI posted the link on my facebook page; it was suggested it might be sassasfras.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it's a redbud tree. They're very hardy, grow anywhere, are especially happy in rocky soil, and do well as shrubs or trees. While the spring buds are a sort of magenta red, the leaves turn golden in Fall.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Looks Like redbud. We saw a lot of them driving through the Appalachians this spring.
ReplyDeletePretty color of the leaves..
ReplyDeletesuch nice photos.
Pretty. I have no idea what it is though!
ReplyDeleteLINDO O AMARELADO DAS FOLHAS! BJSS
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's probably redbud. Looked up pics of redbud in autumn and they match. Thanks!
