Inside George Washington's Office in Winchester

The museum at George Washington's Office in Winchester is small but interesting. Exhibits tell of Washington's experience as a surveyor (starting at age 16), his early political career and his role in the French and Indian War.

The current building was expanded several times after Washington used it. It was only a small cabin when it served as his headquarters while he directed the construction of nearby Fort Loudoun.

The picture on the right shows a view looking out from the museum.

See the museum on the Winchester History website.
