I received a request from a woman who knew my mother's family for a picture of my grandmother, who she calls Nell. I dug out this picture of my sister and our grandmother - it happens to be the first photograph I took with my first camera!

I have some old books from our grandmother's childhood in which she had carefully inscribed her name as "Nellie G."

The doll I'm holding in the photo is one that Tai Tai had just given me for Christmas, and I adored it immediately.
