Seven Bends State Park

Skywatch: Today I helped gather bark for a Halloween event that will take place at the park. We picked it up at the play space where volunteers had removed it from logs that will be used as natural play equipment.
It was a pretty day and turned quite warm by noon.

Would be interesting to see what they’ll do with the bark! Happy weekend Linda.

ReplyDeletePretty views, I hope your event is a fun time.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend!
As far as I know, having done many things in my life, I have never gathered bark.
ReplyDelete...I once bought sheets of Tulip Poplar bark for a project.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty scenery. Could use some warmth here. Gathering bark would be a first for me, although I did use a froe on a tree once. Hard work. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteThat last shot is a stunner.
ReplyDeletemy best volunteer tasks are those that take me outside.
ReplyDeleteGreetings and Salutations! Gathering up bark isn't something I have ever done. Twigs, yes. Tree branches, yes. Let us know what they are going to do with the bark please. Ojibwa Nation makes wastebaskets and napkin holders and all sorts of item out of Birch Bark. I have taken home pieces of Birch Bark to take photographs of because it curls and gets into all kinds of shapes like leaves.
ReplyDeleteI like the smell of birch! They are going to burn the bark at a marshmallow roast.
DeleteEs wäre interessant zu wissen, wfür die Rinde verwendet wird....ich habe noch nie Baumrinde gesammelt.
