Labor Day Weekend in the time of Covid

It's the holiday weekend that marks the end of summer and we aren't traveling, even though we haven't taken a vacation this year. Like many people, we are choosing the safety of staying home except for short rides. We are still avoiding crowds and restaurants due to the pandemic.

For Saturday Critters, I'm sharing a cow, a dog, and a butterfly that I saw recently. The tiger swallowtail butterfly was at an overlook in Shenandoah National Park.

I also saw a black butterfly flying with this yellow one but she did not alight so I could not get a picture. I say "she" because female tiger swallowtails are sometimes black.

Also from the park, here are two photos from this same weekend a year ago. These young women were enjoying the end of summer at an overlook.

  6. Nice butterfly photos! Unfortunately not everyone is staying home. I've seen lots of out-of-state visitors where I live (and not from nearby states either).
