In Berryville, Virginia.
This event celebrating Native American Culture took place a month ago. It was so colorful I took dozens of photos and then couldn't face paring them down to a few for a blog post. But I don't want to neglect the event, so here are some favorites.
The Gathering is a harvest festival with plenty of dancing, ranging from a couples dance to a dramatic piece that represented the Battle of Big Horn.

The Gathering was hosted by Sanctuary on the Trail which is in nearby Bluemont. We visited there a year ago on a studio tour.
Sharing with Mosaic Monday and Seasons.
The Gathering looks like an amazing event to attend, no wonder you took so many photographs.
ReplyDeleteYour hexagonal mosaic is fabulous, I clicked for a closer look, such colourful costumes they all wore.
So glad that you shared it with the Mosaic Monday crowd this week.

Love the American Natives' Teepees, clothes and art, and music. I know what you mean. Have been at several of their feasts - it is so colorful and full of life! Many thanks for sharing these cultural festivities with All Seasons! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
ReplyDeleteNow that we live in Montana, close to several Indian reservations, I am hoping to attend an event such as the Gathering. For many years, I have been fascinated by the clothing and traditions - I can't wait to see the dancing in person. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
