Using my camera, I took one picture of this cute downy woodpecker before it flew away.
I got several pictures of the house sparrow, but they’re just cell phone shots and this is the clearest one.
Our weather has turned very hot again, and smoke from distant wildfires is predicted to reach us soon, so I probably won’t spend much time outdoors until things clear up.

Beautiful photos, Linda. Yes, please stay safe. The heat and wildfires make for very bad conditions and air quality.
ReplyDeleteStay safe in this scorching weather. Enjoyed your birds.
ReplyDeleteI have not fed the birds for a while so they are a bit upset about that, had a small bird complain about it yesterday flying around me while I was reading on the veranda. Nice shot of the "hackspett".
ReplyDeleteLove the cute woodpecker! It is too hot out there.
ReplyDeleteStay cool! Take care, have a great day!
Conditions were brutal here yesterday. There is still an air quality advisory in effect, so I will stay indoors today.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the smoke affects the birds.
ReplyDelete...the sun has disappeared due to the smoke.
ReplyDeleteHello Linda :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a good shot of the Woodpecker. Stay cool indoors and stay safe.
All the best
Sonjia.
Dearest Linda,
ReplyDeleteI thank you so much for it's the very first time I can see such a small Woodpecker. Here we've so many Woodpeckers, but until now I've seen just adults.
Have a most lovely day

I enjoyed seeing these birds.
ReplyDeletePlease stay safe.
