Cedar Creek from Bowman Mill Road

 Near Strasburg

I took Bowman Mill Road last week for a change of scenery. It’s a winding country road, so it takes longer. It crosses Cedar Creek on a  low-water bridge.

The first time I saw that bridge was decades ago on a Civil War field trip. A Confederate army crossed here in 1864 when they carried out an early morning attack on a Federal encampment near Middletown.

  2. il semblerait que le printemps tarde à venir, car les arbres ne sont pas très feuillus. Les photos sont très belles et austères

  5. So serene -- hard to think of fighting a war in that beaujtiful country, but the history is fascinating (especially travelers like us from "newer" areas of the country. Bill loves to drive winding roads and he found lots of them in your area (when the RV was parked somewhere and we were out exploring). I loved to ride along and look and take pictures
