Woodstock, VA
Last month I read that there was a new mural in Woodstock, but the location was not specified. I kept my eyes open as I drove around town, and one day I happened to see it on East Court Street.
It is signed by the artist, Rachel Rebecca [Fitzsimmons], and the title is Shenandoah Daydream. Rachel also painted the LOVE sign that I showed last week.

The location is behind the Chamber of Commerce and next to Emmanuel Lutheran Church. There is a very small cemetery in front of the mural. Here’s a picture of one of the gravestones with the name Mary Spengler. It dates to around 1883.

...a colorful daydream!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous mural!
ReplyDeleteA lovely mural with a great landscape.
ReplyDeleteThat headstone is quite old. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Linda.
Rachel Rebecca Fitzsimmons’ new mural really brings such vibrant charm to Woodstock, and I love that Shenandoah Daydream joins her memorable LOVE sign
ReplyDeleteRachel Rebecca is kept busy. I hope she is paid well for her work. How soon before images of the ‘Dear Leader’ start to appear on walls?
ReplyDeleteLovely mural with real Appalachian charm. The memorial stone is also a good reminder of how the mountains continue, the life cycles change, and we're only here a brief time.
ReplyDeleteRachel is an amazing artist!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mural! Take care, have a great day and happy week ahead.
