Charlie has been trying to make friends with the neighborhood cats. He gets along with the yellow cat now, but not with the gray cat that lives with the yellow one in their home across the street.
Yesterday he sniffed the friendly cat and they played a minute. Then yellow cat walked off and we turned around to see the gray cat glaring at us. Charlie started to approach it and it arched its back and hissed at him!
This evening we returned from our walk and the gray kitty was sitting on a neighbor’s wall. It glared at Charlie and he responded with one bark and then his hound dog howl. It was funny for a minute but then I became concerned that the howling might disturb someone so I took him inside.
It’s good to see Charlie making friends.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that Charlie is friendly! Some cats won't get along, but that's okay.

ReplyDeleteWe hope you and the cats get to be furriends!

ReplyDeleteMaybe it will just take a while longer with the grey cat.

ReplyDeletePerhaps the yellow cat can persuade its housemate that Charlie is okay.
ReplyDeleteCats and dogs are such a hoot.
ReplyDeleteNothing like cats and dogs. :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like Charlie's persistence will win the grey cat over eventually. Nice photos of the gang.
