Flowers are still blooming and I am collecting their images, aware that soon frost will nip them and deprive us of their beauty.
"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
Tomorrow will be dying."
~ Robert Herrick (17th Century Poet)
Mosaic Monday / Monday Murals |
This mural wraps around a corner into the entrance of a parking garage in Merrifield. I looked up the store and they design and sell calendars and journals.
Yes, Linda, the days are numbered for anything susceptible to frost! Love your flower collage! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteNice flowers, sadly they don't last long :)
ReplyDeleteThe mural looks like a very pretty quilt.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Linda.
I certainly would live to live a colorful organized and happy life. Looks like their store is living up to its name. Wonderful mural, Linda.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the days of roses are numbered this autumn.
The flowers will soon be gone, but many bright berries will remain to enliven a winter scene.
ReplyDeletePretty flower and I love the colorful mural. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteAs flores são muito bonitas.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

Your re-purposing the symbolism of the poem to mean literally gathering flowers (or their pictures) is amusing. After all, the title of the poem is "To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time." Not "To the photographer..."

It’s a metaphor, of course. I chose the literal version.
DeletePretty flowers, and I am aware of my own joy at seeing the first daffodils just a few months ago! Soon we move from this brightest of seasons to the grey days.
