East King Street in Strasburg was under repair for a long time. Sewer work next to the dairy had required excavation under the pavement several times, and other repairs were delayed until that project was completed. It seems like it took a couple of years.
Borden's Lumber and Hardware posted signs celebrating the long-awaited repaving of the street, which provides access to their store.
Yesterday I stopped at the blessing box across from the museum to contribute a handful of items including a few face masks. I stepped out on the sidewalk to admire the sunset. Here we are looking west.
What a sunset!

ReplyDeleteGreetings and Salutations! A blessing box....masks what else goes in there? Canned food or? Interesting? Summer always brings on road construction in Illinois. We always need to change the routes of where we are going or returning home. I love the signs! Be safe.
ReplyDeleteYes, canned food mostly. “Leave what you can, take what you need.”

A pretty little town -- I bet those businesses are happy to have that project done as I'm sure a lot of people avoided the area during the work-- it's nice they don't sound bitter about their "down time" but are just glad to have it all fixed.
