Grave of Major General Daniel Morgan

Daniel Morgan was a hero of the American Revolution.  His grave in Winchester's Mt. Hebron Cemetery is marked with an engraved slab and next to it is a newer memorial with a bas-relief portrait.

Originally he was buried near the Old Stone Presbyterian Church and there is a statue of him at that site.

  6. Wow here I am again as the Mt Hebron Cemetery showed up in your daily photos this morning.. My father, Charles Aulick Gibbens grew up in the family home at 447 N. Loudon. While he is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, all his family back to the 1850s have a family plot in Mt Hebron. Carl(Charles) Christopher Aulick a Hessian solider who remained in American following Yorktown. His family's home was the Aulick house at the front entrance of the cemetery. Other family members are also interred in Mt Hebron.

    1. There is actually a crack or seam there. I don’t know whether the stone was piece together or whether it cracked at some point.
