May in the Gardens at Glen Burnie

Winchester, Virginia

I've posted photos of these gardens before but the place is so pretty that I feel should share the experience again.

Glen Burnie is associated with the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. You could easily spend the better part of a day exploring the museum and the gardens, and if you have time left over, check out the new trails on the museum property.

The hiking trails are free but there is an admission charge for the museum and Glen Burnie except on Wednesdays. The museum is closed on Monday.

There are permanent sculptures in the gardens and right now there is also a temporary exhibit.

We enjoy visiting Glen Burnie several times a year. I am grateful that Julian Wood Glass, a descendant of the founder of Winchester, created this masterpiece with Lee Taylor and eventually bequeathed it to a foundation to preserve it.
