Here we see my summertime comfort food. Right now the weather is cold so it doesn't appeal to me much. It is chocolate ice cream, but it's made with goat milk instead of cow milk. All cow dairy products give me painful cramps. Goat milk produces bloating but it's not painful, just unattractive.
I use a small dish because I have to limit sugar. Doctors tell me I am at risk for diabetes, which my father had.
If you are curious, I have a page on My Food Allergies and Sensitivities. There are Facebook groups on food allergies which are sources of support if you or your child has food allergies.
I'm sorry to hear about your allergies. I'm very sensitive to many common foods and environmental elements like dust, mold, pollen, and animal dander. It does limit life sometimes. I can't eat any dairy not even goat products. I can eat faux dairy made from rice milk but it's not really the same.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI have never seen ice cream made with goats milk.
It looks delicious, ice cream is my favorite. I have some food allergies too. Take care, have a happy day!
...a new brand for me.
ReplyDeleteGood looking treat. I agree, allergies and sensitivites seem to abound these days. I used to get shots for my allergies, but decided to just endure, as not much really was improved by the shots. There were so many people at that doctors' office for shots! I think our environment is too full of chemicals and plastics! Get comfort food where it works.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your allergies Linda. It seems more and more people are becoming allergic to foods and things in our environment too. I've been having a terrible cough for years which is brought about by certain smells, spicy foods, acidic foods, cold drinks... just had a chest scan and the Dr thinks the cough is due to reflux problems, so starting new medication tomorrow. I love ice cream but but can't eat it too cold otherwise I start coughing!
ReplyDeleteNot my type of comfort food much prefer a rice pudding
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense that there'd be goat milk ice cream around, I just haven't noticed it in shops.
