Front Royal Random-osity
Monday Murals: This unicorn and his cat friend are painted on the back door of Royal Oak Books. I showed you the front of this store almost five years ago but I didn't know there was a mural at the back until a photography friend shared a picture of it. (Thanks, David!)The town of Front Royal is at the northern end of Shenandoah National Park, so I often drive up there enjoy the scenery and wildlife. This collage shows late-day scenes from Dickey Ridge, Low Gap, and Indian Run Overlook.
Some of the springs have already frozen into flows of icicles.
Linda - fabulous collage of Dickey Ridge to Indian Run Overlook. Funny you should mention headlights. I drove home in the dark tonight, and it was also snowing, so using my brights was out of the question. At times, it was really hard to see where I was on the road! I will have to look into yellow-tinted glasses! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteLove that unicorn - not too common in my part of the world!

Cute mural Linda, love the cat and the unicorn too.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of yellow tinted glasses, something I could use when I drive at night, which I hate to do because of the headlights.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.
Hello Linda,
ReplyDeleteI love the cute mural with the horse and cat. Great views of Shenandoah, it must be cold at night for the springs to turn to ice. I love the deer. I do not like driving at night, my eyes do not like bright lights any time of the day. Take care, enjoy your day and week ahead!
Beautiful mural and such beautiful photos in the collage. I haven't been able to drive at night for years now. Maybe I'll try the glasses too!
ReplyDeleteI love murals and always like to photograph them too. I took a photo of a unicorn this week! It was in someone's window at the trailhead! lol How funny is that!
ReplyDeleteGreat unicorn and kitten mural. It's as if you have to be among the initiated to see it...and since it's pretty rare to run into a unicorn, maybe that's why it's placed there! Me too about night driving, but the optometrist says my cataracts cause that sensitivity to lights, but are not severe enough to require surgery (which is covered by Medicare at least.)
ReplyDelete...the new LED headlights are too bright!
ReplyDeleteLove the door and I too am not fond of driving at night. The older I get the more it bothers me. I've read the yellow glasses help.

Beautiful woodsy drive. I definitely need to look into those yellow-tinted glasses.
ReplyDeleteI like that mural!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty mural and I enjoyed photos of your drive. The deer would be an added bonus, always love to see those beautiful animals. I don’t like to drive in the dark either but never knew about yellow tinted glasses helping. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteIf a mural has a cat, you KNOW Bleubeard and I will fall in love with it. It's fun and unusual. My city has started giving grants to artists to paint back doors, so I look forward to stumbling across some, too.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have found your unicorn! It must be a tame one since it's in a stable.
