Mexican Murals, Blackrock Views, and Indigenous People.

Random-osity.
 
The Good: A week ago I shared a mural from El Maguey Restaurant in Front Royal and promised to share their other ones today. Enjoy.


 
The Random: We drove up to Skyline Drive on Friday and it was lovely. I walked up a short but steep trail to the Blackrock viewpoint near Big Meadows.

It's beginning to look like autumn up there. Since the leaves are now changing colors here in the valley, I imagine the foliage is nearing peak color at the higher elevations like around Skyland.

The Fun: Virginia's governor recently declared October 12 to be Indigenous Peoples' Day. In honor of this, I made a collage of photos leftover from The Gathering in 2017.

    Linda - those are spectacular murals. We were going to attend a Powwow in August, but it was cancelled due to COVID. Maybe next year! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

    Beautiful pictures of skyline drive and also of the indigenous people. There is a movement here in Massachusetts to change Columbus Day to Indigenous peoples day. I hope they do.

    What a nice hike to see the colors in the trees! A steep climb would be a challenge to me now. I've been walking on flat ground for so long! Love your photos!
