I wake up in the morning and things seem normal. Then I start to think about the day and remember that most places are closed, there are no events going on, and we are in the middle of a pandemic. If I do go out to run a necessary errand, I feel like I have moved into the Twilight Zone. People are wearing masks and keeping their distance. Traffic is light.
Yet most things still look like they used to. The scenery is mostly unchanged and peaceful. Animals are unconcerned.

These farm scenes are in Clarke County. I took two photos of this lane and cropped one to bring your attention to the fence and its shadow.
Follow Middle Road into Winchester and suddenly there are a number of churches. The brick church below is the Congregational Christian Fellowship Church. The building dates to 1990, if I understand the church history correctly. The congregation has a history dating to 1909.

Here's one more barn, one that is falling apart like many are today. Farmers no longer need barns for storing hay, it seems. Now hay is baled by machines that wrap it in plastic.
A personal note: I have noticed that some of my fellow bloggers have been commenting here for a long time. I appreciate all of you and I love your blogs! I hope that you stay healthy and make it through these trying times without any painful losses.
Here we are separated from our neighbors and even many family members. Virtual friends are important! Thank you for being here.
Muito bonitas estas fotografias, gostei.

...the barn down the road in your first image is my favorite! I wonder if I could find some old Twilight Zone show to watch. Thanks Linda for the visit, take care.
ReplyDeleteLovely, and too bad about the old barns. Many back roads around here in NC also have old houses falling down.
