The Good: We went to Luray a week ago and visited the Warehouse Art Gallery. Here is a huge collage made up of small paintings done by many different people.
Monday Mural and Mosaic Monday. |
The Fun: While we were looking at art, I heard music and saw a flash of color through the main door and went out to see. This dancer represents a "firebird" and had been performing around the corner. On stilts!
That evening I looked at my cell phone photos and realized I had taken a photo of a stained glass piece of art that was likely the inspiration for the costume!

I dont know how 'stilt people' do what they do - I'd be in hospital if I tried it!

Oh my gosh, what a super fun day! That firebird dancer on stilts is impressive and yes that window must have been her inspiration! Your collages are fabulous. That big collage (if enlarged) would be a beautiful wall hanging
ReplyDeleteHow interesting...she does look like the bird in the stained glass!
ReplyDeleteI love Stravinski's music "The Firebird" and the costumes from 100 years ago, which look like the firebirds in your photos. Great post!

The costume surely could have come from the stain glass window as inspiration. Both are unique and lovely in their own right. Thanks for sharing.
