Solstice: Ice and Geese

The weather has been cold and a film of ice coats the lake. The geese don't seem to mind.

Another flock of Canada Geese flew in today. I was able to grab my camera and get a few pictures.

They like to stand on the ice, near the edge of open water. I imagine that if a predator appeared, they would quickly find safety in the water.

  4. We have an empty field near our house, and I noticed today, in the midst of the snow covered field, what must have been hundreds of Canadian geese grazing. Too bad I wasn't in a position to take a picture. Enjoyed yours instead. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
