Old Sawmill in West Virginia

The Hahn Brothers Sawmill was open to visitors during Heritage Weekend in Hardy County. We followed old Route 55 and Sauerkraut Road into Dutch Hollow to the old Hahn Homeplace.

The sawmill operated regularly until 2005. It's still in working condition, although the workers had to make a few adjustments to keep it going.

The saw is called a Double-O’ Frick. It's powered by a gasoline motor from a 1949 Buick Roadmaster.

Sharing with Tuesday Treasures.

  2. ...old saw mills are fascinating and then I think of all the Amish who earn a living just like this today! Thanks for driving down Sauerkraut Road so we could see it. Enjoy your day.
