Winchester, Virginia
The Winchester Rescue Mission now has a wrap-around mural that will bring attention to the location and to the services they offer. They provide food and shelter to people in need, plus provide other assistance, inspired by Biblical teachings.
The mural was sketched by artist Sarah Gallahan and painted by a team of volunteers. It replaced a smaller mural of a lighthouse, which I shared four years ago.
See the Mural linkup at Colourful World.
...for a mission, the lighthouse is a wonderful symbol.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the lighthouse too. Its light welcomes everyone in. A lovely mural from a talented artist.
ReplyDeleteThese painting seem very popular at present - I plan to track some of Melbourne's down one weekend - but like many of my plans, its still in the planing stage!

Hello, it is a beautiful mural. Wishing you a happy day!
ReplyDeleteI love the yellows and oranges they used, makes it quite bright and warm. They have replaced the lighthouse with another one too. Thanks for contributing Linda.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love this lighthouse Linda, the previous one was fantastic also ✨
ReplyDeleteI like this mural. I wish my small town would embrace this artistic expression.
ReplyDeleteGreat mural that is both a work of art and a sign offering information about what their mission is.
