1. Today's is George Washington's real birthday, and here are some flowers I saw in front of his office in Winchester. They are part of a wreath placed in honor of Presidents Day.

4. There are two roads leading to the new park, but they both pass over low-water bridges. We had over 20 days last year when the bridges were closed due to high water. This may be a record, but it made construction impossible.
5. I scanned in some photos from 1998. This one shows a meal at Larry's house near Germantown. This was when my parents were still living and we see them across the table, along with Marie.

ReplyDeleteHello, it looks like a beautiful location for the park.
ReplyDeleteI hope they work out future flooding problems. Enjoy your weekend!
The picture of a celebratory meal from the past is so sweet. I've got lots of old photos to scan too. Perhaps that's a good job for these rainy days!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting selection of photos - Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots. I like the flowers.
ReplyDeletea charming meal shot, good memories
ReplyDeleteThe experimental farm grounds look inviting at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteThe Farm looks like a beautiful area. Something in me hates to see old buildings torn down. I know it's not practical, and often more expensive to refurbish vs. just knock down and rebuild, but I love the character and history of old buildings.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame there have been so many delays in creating the park. Nice family photo--such a treasure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bouquet in red, white and blue.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
That’s a nice park coming along there.... Our daughter was born on Washington’s Birthday, in the State of Washington. Before they changed it to Pres. Day, it was a State Holiday there. She used to tell her brothers that they flew the flags for her birthday, but not theirs!
