I drove through Shenandoah National Park today. I didn't see much autumn color (the leaves have barely started turning), but I did see a bear. He's a small one and he hurried across the road.
The other two photos are from my large archive of unused pictures. The first one shows an American Robin and the second shows a mixed family of geese in my yard.

That must be something seeing a bear
ReplyDeleteTo have geese in MY yard would be thrilling. Love the beautiful plumage of the robin. Too bad the Fall colors weren't there yet!
ReplyDeleteSharing this with us at I'd Rather B Birdin is appreciated...thanks!
Hello, love the bear photo. We were just at Shenandoah looking for colors this week too. Pretty Robin, love the geese. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Sunday, enjoy your day and have a great new week. PS, thanks also for leaving a comment on my blog.
ReplyDelete...bear are around, but I never see them.
ReplyDeleteYes, those geese are around, eating something (bugs? seeds?) in the grass. I love when they fly honking around.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sight to see a bear, I never seen one.
ReplyDeleteWow great capture . Keep commenting on my blog because I love your comments.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you just missed his mama. That's probably a cub, over a year old.
ReplyDeleteI looked around but didn't see the mama bear. This was next to an overlook and as I was snapping pictures from my car, a couple of tourists walked up to get a closer look at the bear! If Mama Bear had been around they could have been in trouble!
DeleteGreat creature photos. Like others above, I've never seen a bear outside of a zoo.
ReplyDeleteFancy seeing a bear, I just can't imagine what it may be like … I'm sure your pulse must beat faster!
ReplyDeleteNice to see the Robin and Geese too.
All the best Jan
A bear! That sighting (and good photo) would make the drive worthwhile even if the leaves weren’t yet at their peak. Isnt this an unusually slow Autumn for you though?
