The Good: Flowers are doing well in our area because we've had adequate rain. Well, sometimes we got a lot more rain than we need, but that's better than drought.

The Random: This is among the few things I inherited from my grandfather. His mother was a collector of many things, and this framed remembrance honors Pope Leo XIII, who died in 1903. On it is written "To Mrs. D. Harry Hammer, with my best wishes, John T. McCutcheon."
McCutcheon was a Pulitzer Prize-winning American newspaper political cartoonist, so I'm counting this as a treasure.
The Fun: A mother and children are cooling off in the Shenandoah River when a turning jet ski startles the kids. Don't worry, they recovered in a matter of seconds.
What a gorgeous Ipomoea!!! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHello, the sunflowers are beautiful. That jet ski would spook me. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDelete...a treasure and fun summer scenes! Thanks Linda for stopping by, enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteI agree, more rain is easier to live with than a sought. Thanks for permission to use your cartoon...it's cute and will give some light-heartedness to my post coming up Fri about photos of photographers.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers! What a cool treasure. Great capture of the river scene, glad everyone recovered quickly from their scare.

The sunflowers are quite cheerful!
ReplyDeleteLove the sunflowers Linda, I would definitely consider the sketch a treasure, and what a fun way to cool off, even with a little startle along the way ☺
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers are a cheerful sign of high Summer. A farm here is growing them in quantity very successfully, I guess for sunflower oil, which is unusual for the UK, but with the heatwave and weeks of sun and no rain it might be the way to go in the future if our climate gets hotter in the Summer months. Wishing you a good day!
ReplyDeleteI love the sunflowers. That jet ski would have made me jump too, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
So pleased SOMEBODY is getting rain - dry as a bone here. That morning glory is luminous!
