Blog Post 5660: Welcome to August!
Summer is passing quickly. Today we picked up our order of iris plants near Middletown. I drove a little farther down Chapel Road and saw this barn. Wow, two barn quilts! And so large! I'm calling these murals because they cover the entire front wall except for the door.
I started to give that barn the entire post, but then I thought I should show you one more rural beauty.
The John Deere tractor is treasured by many farmers. I don't know how old this one is but it looks like it's seen good use. The Deere company has been around since 1804!
Linda, great barn find, one quilt block would have been nice, but two is great. The John Deere model M was produced from 1947 to 1952. If you look carefully on the tractor, someone has added his thoughts on John Deere. Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you again.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. LOL.
DeleteLove the barn and the tractor
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Ooo..I love that tractor!
ReplyDeletequilt murals are my favorite!!
ReplyDeleteSome great finds, I have a similar era tractor only a Ford. The barn quilts always make me stop and get a shot.
ReplyDeleteThe tractor looks like the one we had when I was growing up. We had to start it with a flywheel, which wasn't always easy.
ReplyDeleteVery colourful quilts!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda for sharing this big barn with the quilts with SEASONS! Hope you had an easier time connecting this week. I went on chat with one of the Wordpress staffers last week (didn't even know that was possible!) to tell about your connection problem, so she suggested I change something in my settings. I did, so I hope it helped?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, are they quilts, or are these murals (paintings) of quilts? Have a great rest of the week:)
They are paintings.
DeleteI love barn quilts--so pretty, and they add a bit of unexpected color and charm.
