This road runs along Passage Creek through George Washington National Forest. The creek itself runs through the Massanutten Mountains, which tower overhead as you drive through the valley.
(See my Passage Creek posts.)
There are miles of walking trails in the national forest. We saw these small white wildflowers near the parking area for Signal Knob Trail. I believe they are star chickweed and rue anenome. (Thank you, VirginiaWildflowers.org, for an online guide.)

I love the redbud trees in the Spring. Especially the rare times when we have snow.
ReplyDeleteA very pretty area! Great photos Linda. I am always happy to see the redbud's bloom again and those pretty wildflowers are lovely. Thanks so much for sharing again with Today's Flowers and enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for these signs of spring
ReplyDeleteThose elusive signs of spring are weeks away here- the last shot of the trail reminds me of a place over in Quebec that'll have those early flowers in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteThose first spring blooms always are appreciated. Redbuds are just forming here.
ReplyDeleteLovely blooms. Wildflowers always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteI think Redbuds are my favourite flowering tree!
