Redbud Festival, Dayton, Virginia
The Good: The festival on Saturday brought a crowd of people to the quiet town of Dayton, which is west of Harrisonburg in a fertile agricultural area. We had no problem finding a parking spot, though, and walked through the festival which was mostly on College Street.
The Random: The town has interesting architecture and several historic sites including a fine museum. The roots of Shenandoah University are here, and several buildings still stand that were part of the "Shenandoah College and Shenandoah Conservatory of Music." In 1960, the school moved to Winchester, Virginia.
