When harsh winter weather is predicted, I fill the bird feeders and even put out an extra feeder or too, such as this thistle sock. The birds reward me by letting me take their pictures from a window.
Tip: Keep your lens close to the window glass to avoid reflections. When possible, shoot straight through the glass, although you may be able to angle toward the side when light is not reflecting off the glass.

I keep seeing those Red Cardinals on a lot of blogs. They are so bright & colourful. The other little bird in the first photo is really cute too. What is the bird on the left of the feeder in the 2nd photo? It looks like a miniature Kookaburra.
ReplyDeleteThats a classic collection of garden birds - love the way they are lining up in that first picture.

I really like that first shot. They almost look like they are doing a little dance together.
ReplyDeleteNice shots! Thanks for reminding me of our fine feathered friends. My feeders are empty.

ReplyDeleteGlad they're well fed & thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteNice that these different species of birds seem to get along.
ReplyDeleteReally nice shots. I try to feed our birds more when its cold here, as it has been lately.
