Ephemeral
I call it a sunbow, but the proper name is parhelion. Many people call it a sun dog. This one was to the left of the sun in late afternoon; I placed it near the center of the frame. I hope you can see it on your screen.
This is formed by light shining on ice crystals in clouds. I'm using this to illustrate the word "Ephemeral" which is the City Daily Photo theme for November 1st.
