When we were in Southern California I noticed that there are plenty of murals. I suppose this is a result of the prevalence of warm days. People spend time outdoors all year long so more artwork is produced outdoors for them to see.
Here we see a power plant that's partly disguised by a "Whaling Wall," or more specifically a Wyland Whaling Wall. This huge mural depicting California Gray Whales is the work of marine life artist Robert Wyland, who has produced a hundred murals on this theme around the world.

What a nice mural! And an unusual place for it too...

ReplyDeleteIt really is an unusual place for a mural, and on a big scale too!

ReplyDeleteThis is great! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really beautiful one.
ReplyDeleteWell that is a good way to deal with what would otherwise be an ugly structure. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteWilliam had the same idea as I did. Kind of like lipstick on a pig. Leviathans on a leviathan. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThe mural is a definite improvement in the looks of this power plant.
