Dusk at Roy's

Riverton / Front Royal, VA
Is it mysterious that we repeatedly end up at Roy Rogers around sunset? Not really, since Frank loves fast-food hamburgers!

Compare this image to Clouds and Awning, taken a few steps forward and to the left, or to Winter Evening, Front Royal, taken downtown but facing the same direction.

    Interesting composition with strong verticals and a diagonal line from the wind-blown flag down to the restaurant, which looks nice and homey.

    I didn't know there were restaurants in his name. Nothing like that, as far as I know, north of the border.

    We used to have a house near the Roy Rogers Apple Valley Inn. It was in the California desert near where a lot of his show was filmed. We stopped in to the Roy Rogers Museum in Apple Valley a few times and he came out and talked to the kids. We were impressed, but the kids were clueless.
