Actually, I don't think the settlers had alpacas! But they did have sheep, and they used their wool to make clothing and blankets.

Germanfest would have been an amazing event to visit, so much to enjoy and learn.

ReplyDeleteTexWisGgirl, I think they are alpacas but I could be wrong. They were quite gentle. According to the Maryland Alpacas site, llamas have longer "banana" ears! http://www.marylandalpacas.org/pages/alpacas_llamas.html
